제프 베이조스 아마존 최고경영자(CEO)가 S&P 500 지수에 포함된 미국 주요 기업 대표 가운데 선거자금을 가장 많이 기부한 것으로 나타났다.
19일(현지시간) 미 경제매체 마켓워치에 따르면 베이조스는 11·6 미국 중간선거를 앞두고 1천20만 달러(116억 원)를 기부해 에너지 기업 헤스 코퍼레이션의 존 헤스(87만 달러)를 압도적으로 제치고 1위를 차지했다.
베이조스는 S&P 지수 기업인 392명이 지출한 선거자금 총액의 거의 40%를 혼자서 도맡았다.
