야키마 카운티 보안관실은 자택에서 칼에 찔려 숨진 다니엘 토레스 나테라스(51) 사건을 조사하고 있다.
5월 12일 목요일 밤, 와파토 경찰은 폭행으로 한 남성이 가슴에 피를 흘리고 있다는 신고를 받고 와파토 웨스트 C 스트리트 200블록에 출동했다.
사건을 조사한 경찰은, 집 문을 두드리며 돈을 요구한 두 남자와의 싸움 끝에 토레스-나테레스가 가슴을 찔렸다고 밝혔다 .
경찰은 의료진이 도착할 때까지 토레스-나테라스에게 응급처치와 심폐소생술을 시작했지만 부상으로 사망했다고 전했다.
토레스-나테라스의 부검은 5월19일로 예정되어 있다.
아직까지 사건과 관련하여 체포된 사람은 없다.
