“He laughs best who laughs last.”

 

There always is a particular scene in boy’s high school movies in which boys fight each other for the power game. And what we usually see in that kind of movie is a combat scene in which a silent boy beats up a status-quo (usually a violent bully). In this typical David and Goliath story, we can know one critical punch works rather than simple multiple hits.

 

 

So is our life. As I live my life, I can see that why there is an expression “he laughs best who laughs last.”

 

A recent story that I experienced made me think like this.

 

Recently, I heard from Mr. A that he had tied the knot. Mr. A, who is in his late 30,’ is not really in good shape. He is not a type of guy who is physically attractive. He has chubby face and figure. He looks five years older than he is. In sum, “dating” is not in his vocabulary.

 

Whereas Mr. B, the old friend of Mr. A, is exactly opposite. He is a cool fashionista with good shape. He is a “lady killer” who has a lot of dating experiences. It’s kind of fun that the two are best friends. But what is even more fun is they are the “polar extreme” concerning dating experiences.

 

Mr. A has a problem because he does not have a woman to go out. Mr. B has a problem because he has too many women to go out.

 

But here is the twist. Mr. A is the one who married first.

 

Mr. B, who dated numerous ladies every single day, knows how to deal with dating. But he has never really seriously thought about marriage. He is always cool to break up with ladies he dated. He has full confidence that “I can go out with any ladies anytime I want,” which is the “habitual dating syndrome.”

 

But Mr. A was different. He was desperate to marry. It is so hard for him to find dating opportunities. Once he got a chance, he put everything he had. His tenacity and endeavor have finally come to fruition.

 

People tend to pay attention to the numbers and facts (number of datings and partners, who is good or bad at dating, and so on). Seemingly, these facts relevant. But even if you date one hundred and two hundred times, everything is in vain if you cannot find the right person for you.

 

The real expert, the final winner, is the one who finds the best person for him/her, although (s)he has not many dating experiences. Remember the critical thing is to wait for the moment as you put your efforts.
